The firm of Alfred Bullard is an old and very respected business dealing in fine English antiques and was founded originally in London in the 1920's. In 1965, the London branch was absorbed into the Philadelphia office and showrooms, where the tradition of offering a wide selection of rigorously chosen pieces displayed in period room like settings is continued to this day. Alfred Bullard specializes, as it always has, in English furniture, looking glasses and accessories of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Throughout its long history, the firm has had only two owners, the current president, William C. Bertolet, having been an associate of the founder, Alfred Bullard. Over the years, in the selection of antiques offered for sale, special care and attention has always been given to the quality and graining of the woods and to acquiring pieces with fine patina which can be neither reproduced nor replaced if lost. Alfred Bullard carries on the tradition of a carefully selected stock with emphasis on pieces retaining their original eighteenth and nineteenth century integrity. |
